In Safe and Savvy we blog about how to protect your online life and the irreplaceable content on your computer. We write about our real-life experiences and try to give you helpful tips on security issues whether it be safe online shopping, ensuring that you don’t lose precious digital photos or making sure your kids don’t get exposed to inappropriate content. We all work at F-Secure, a company with over 20 years experience in Internet security. However, as you can see from the little intros below, we hold very different types of positions in the company and our interests expand far beyond just cyber security.
We would love to hear your thoughts on anything and everything that we’ve written so please drop us a line at safeandsavvy@f-secure.com.
Please note that we moderate all comments on the blog, this is why there is a lag between you writing your comment and it appearing on the blog.

My work revolves around the technical analyses and documentation produced by the F-Secure Response Lab, and “translating” that material into content normal computer users can understand. When I’m not working, I gravitate towards geeky stuff (computer games, especially), with other interests like gastronomy, martial arts, traveling and arts and crafts thrown into the mix.

I work in one of our country offices and am responsible for consumer and operator marketing. I am very enthusiastic about the opportunities the online world offers us and about how we can explore them safely while living our lives with peace of mind in the connected world.

I’m a social media consultant for F-Secure. After writing for MTV.com, I went to work for Napster crafting all customer communication. I did everything from interviewing performing artists to writing ads that ran on the Super Bowl. As a consultant, I advised universities, corporations, stand-up comics and TV personalities on engaging digital communities more effectively. I prefer Macs but don’t believe they are virus-proof.

As an R&D team manager, my job is to help my team of experts in creating the products that protect people’s irreplaceable content. We’re constantly looking for better ways of living up to this promise. Outside work, I like to record life around me in the form of photos.

I love concepts and thoughts – the big ideas that change the world around us. But I’m also fond of the small tangible things that make that change happen. My background is in business and design, in my work I try to contribute to creating a positive, good experience and good life for all of us.

Based in Munich I work as a Corporate Communications Manager for F-Secure. Everyone has something which one cannot afford to lose and thus I try to inspire people that data security is more than just bits and bytes. I’m in close contact with our solution management, designers, anti-virus researchers, our country offices as well as journalists, industry gurus and bloggers around the world. So there is a lot I can share. I love the Alps, traveling, girls’ (geeky) stuff and I have to confess: I’m an iPhone maniac.

As a technical writer, I deal with documentation for the response labs—mostly producing technical description that is comprehensible to our product users. Outside of work, I can be found hunting for delicious desserts, kicking back with video games and finding ways to satisfy my interest in architecture marvels, cool designs and black & white photography.

I work in communication and most of my work involves raising people’s awareness for online safety. I am inspired by the idea that I can share observations and useful examples on how you can enjoy the social networking sites while also keeping security in mind.
