25 Fellows for 25 Years: Veli-Jussi Kesti

F-Secure Life

1998_25th_timeline_web_images-02As we celebrate our 25th anniversary over the next month, we’re paying tribute to the women and men who helped build the success story that is F-Secure. You can experience that story here and help us fight malware in our anniversary arcade game.

Today we speak to the Director of our Security Products Veli-Jussi Kesti who joined F-Secure on September 1, 1998.

Where were you 25 years ago?

At school. 6th grade.

What’s surprised you most since you’ve joined F-Secure?

I was quite surprised how popular tablets got.

What’s your favorite piece of technology?

I do love my smartphone, I’ve had an electronic organizer since Palm III and the current phones are just amazing.

What F-Secure memory is most irreplaceable to you?

There are so many to choose from. I’ll go with a company trip to Dublin and the evening trip to the beach with a few fellows. We got land locked on the beach because of the tide rising and ended up finding our way back through rocks, cliffs, barbed wire fences and backyards. Good times.

How will the world be different in 25 years?

I have no idea. 25 years ago the current information time had not happened yet. I had a C64 and most people did not care about computers too much. World truly has changed since.

What’s your 25th birthday wish for F-Secure?

Live long and prosper.
