Nice. F-Secure has won the Best Protection award for 2013 from the AV-TEST Institute for corporate endpoint protection.
F-Secure Client Security topped performance in tests throughout the year, leading the industry in fighting malware infections caused by current threats such as zero day attacks from malicious websites and e-mails.
“Only the best security products are able to receive an AV-TEST award,” said Andreas Marx, CEO of AV-TEST. “We want to congratulate the entire F-Secure team for receiving the AV-TEST Best Protection Award 2013.”
F-Secure Client Security provides corporate computers integrated antivirus, firewall, antispyware, rootkit scanning, and browsing protection. But it’s F-Secure’s advanced DeepGuard engine that really clinches the Best Protection title, enabling F-Secure’s products to detect brand new, previously unseen malware and even zero day exploits.
Prevention of exploits, so named because they exploit vulnerabilities in software installed on the machine, is especially important for businesses.
Employees are often targeted by cybercriminals attempting to gain access to the corporate network. Emails designed to trick employees contain malicious software that can cost your business time and money. Another method of attack is the so-called “watering hole,” where exploits are planted into normally trustworthy websites that corporate users often visit.
Client Security doesn’t just protect corporate desktops and laptops from malicious content, it also prevents browser or plug-in exploitation.
Integrating the latest detection technologies with state-of-the-art protection and automatic real-time defense, it uses low memory resources, scans quickly and overall has minimal impact on the system as work gets done. In addition, the Premium version includes Software Updater, which ensures that operating systems and third-party applications are up to date.
“This recognition is confirmation once again of F-Secure’s leading position in the security industry,” says Pekka Usva, Vice President, Corporate Security at F-Secure. “Whether for home or corporate user, regardless of the device our products repeatedly receive top marks in independent tests. This award re-affirms to consumers and businesses alike that F-Secure provides the best protection against modern threats.”
